Cant Get Def File To Matchup

Post by cstaples »

I am tuning my first EECV AOL3 CRAJ 98 Cobra and cannot get the bin to line up with the def to save my life. The def I have says a 128k file but I see some people on Moates are using a full 256k file.I have played with the offset and some things will look correct like the fan on/off temps but the inj slope is wrong.HELP
Also what are the burn1 addresses for burning a Moates F3 chip?
I am assuming if I am using a 256k file it would be 000000-03FFFF.

Thanks

The CRAJ0 strategy is a 4 bank one so you do need a 256k padded bin. The addressing you give is correct.

If you used either TunerPro or Flash&Burn to extract your bin with a start address of “000000” and an end address of “03FFFF” for both the ‘chip’ and ‘buffer’ addressing then the bin will already be padded.

If you have a 216k bin then you need to use a hex editor to insert 8192 bytes at the start of each bank and at the end of bank 1 to 'pad' the bin out to 256k.

Ok I have a 256K that I pulled from the ECU.How do I get it to line up in Tunerpro with the CRAJ0 def?

Well, in theory, it should be all correct as that is my understanding of how the CRAJ0 def was set up. Can you post your bin somewhere and I will take a look at it and see if I can see what's wrong.

This is the 256k that I pulled from the ECU.
Maybe the def is just incomplete or something. Some of the valves look right but for example the inj slope is wrong but the rev limits and fans look right.

The bin looks OK and I think I found the problem with the injector slopes, the displayed value is lb/sec, change the conversion equation to X/582.5422 to get the display in lb/hr.

I was talking to someone else and thay said AOL3 is a 2 bank tune.I thought all 98 were 4 bank.

The bin you posted is definitely a four bank bin and AFAIK all CRAJ0 bins are 4 bank.

Well I have not been doing this long enough to wave the bull DANG! flag but I tought it was a 4 bank also. The only other wierd thing is the bin at moates.net is (2) 56k files so that made me kinda think it was a 2 bank.
