injector rate question

Post by scott0999 »

im using a bin that was supposed to be tuned for #30 injectors. the person I got it from had a similar setup to mine except he had a supercharger, I have a turbo

for some reason he put 35.94 as the injector rate/hr. im not sure why he did that, and my car has been running decent considering.

but my question is, is the injector rate just for reference or does that actually effect the fueling?

for instance, if someone just got the bin wasnt sure what injectors to use with it, would they look there as a reference?

should I change it to 30.00, or keep it how it is and tune from there?

It affects the fueling. Most likely he used the injector rate as a "global" fuel adder/subtractor, or to compensate for higher/lower fuel pressure. Instead, I recommend setting the injector constant to the injector size, then modify your VE or MAF tables to get your fuel trimmed appropriately.
