M50B25TU DME 413 injector scaling

Post by Mats »

Hello all,

I have car with M50B25tu with s50 ITB's.
Ecu is DME 413.

What is your suggestions for the best software version to use for tuning?
Injectors are now stock (green), but if I install EV6 32LB, what kind of injector scaling should i start the tune with?

Hi,
your injector constant will depend of the size of the original ones (those that where used with your DME).
Dont forget that you will also have to tune the injectors dead time, and also re-scale all maps which are load related.

The best software seems to be the 506 software as it is the best understood so far and the XDF on the tuner pro site is the most complete.

You can copy the B25 maps into the 506 bin and it will run just the same as before.
There are only small differences between the 506 software and the others, mostly due to the maps being tuned for a longer stroke version (US B32).

Why are you going for such big injectors? If the fuelling is ok with the greens then going from ~17lb to 32lb will only make things worse.
Pink top E36 injectors are around 21lb and flow more than enough for most NA builds.

Engine is just built and I started to test it. Idle and low rpm range is working good.
Injectors (32lb) I Bought 'cause I was told that with this setup, there is not enough fueling after 5kprm.

Are you now using the 32lb or the oem? If you are using the oem, just check your AFRs at WOT , that could avoid you a lot of work!

OEM (17) are in use now. Thanks for advice, I will test fully with OEM first.

Yikes, ok, 32lb is a lot of fuel, more suitable for a turbo car.

As Evil said check things out with the 17lb injectors and if you are struggling for fuel at the top end then get some pink top M52 injectors.

To be honest though the S50 throttles will not give you a lot of benefit, the M50B25tu does not really move enough air for the inlet manifold to be a big restriction. I expect you will find the 17lb injectors ok as they can deliver enough fuel for about 220hp.
