m52b28 in a 525i e34 - original harness and DME (Silver 413)

Post by farjeman »

Hi gents,

Need your professional help regarding the DME map.
As on topic, I installed m52b28 (single VANOS) over my 1995 e34 (old engine died  ) but I kept the original harness, sensors, intake and DME, all BOSCH.
All is working fine, but not great and it feels like can help little tuneup.
I have EPROM programmer and know how to use it  but missing the optimal .bin & .xdf.

Do you have some?

Thanks!

Evil m3's 506-965 xdf should work, U just need to get an appropriate bin to start with.

Cool, thanks!
you think it will be wise to use my original .bin for that?
I kept the m50 manifold, but the volume is different now and so is the air draw.
I guess the ignition timing should be offset then, due to the longer (distance/time) stroke and the injector opening time as well (K factor?)

General Q. is every .xdf has a different conversion table?
I mean, viewing the same .bin on a diff .xdf, provide different values.

Car:
1995 525i e34
Original engine was m50b25tu, swap to a m52b28 (EUR). manual tranny.
Configuration is:
M50 intake manifold
pink top injectors
413 silver label DME (all electronics and sensors are bosch)
K&N boxed AF
Single O2 sensor, pre cat.
Short welded pipe exhaust manifold (m52 original)

and again, THANK YOU! [=
