1986 Corvette with 1227165 ECM

Post by monsolo »

I have an 86 Corvette with a 1227165 ECM. The TunerPro site says that my year of ECM should be using the datastream definition for a 160 baud rate. However, I know for a fact that all 86 Corvette's have the 8192 baud rate. Should I instead use the datastream definition for the 89 Corvette? Specifically, the 1227165_6E.ads file and not the 1227165_160.ads file? 85 Corvette's were 160 baud rate but that was changed for the 86 and newer model years...

Thanks!

86 Y-Car

I suggest you "Update" your calibration or PROM and move to the 1989 Y-Car calibration. Many software and cal improvements. Then use the 89 Corvette/Camaro/Firebird ADX file. You have to place a 10k resistor across ALDL Pins A to B in order to receive the 8192 or fast data. Car will run better as well.
