4v mark8 in tbird need tune!

Post by rcpcash »

I put a 4v mark 8 motor in my 96 thunderbird, now I need to find a way to tune it to match the 4v parameters better than tbird tune..

I can get a 98 mark 8 bin to start it but it immediately dies (pretty sure it is PATS) I can put a LLX3 tune (96 Cobra) on it and it runs great... but won't shift because cobras had Manual Transmission..

(I have tried changing all of the options I can find in the LLX3 bin related to transmission to get it to shift but no go...)

Does anyone have a 96 or 97 mark 8 bin file I could use? Another possibility is disabling pats on the 98 mark 8 bin I have, Catch code: MLX0... anyone have the location of PATS in that bin?

Anyone else have any other ideas?

Thanks for your time :)

the 98 mark8 is a cmba0 strategy it will not run on a cdan4 ecu

Use the stock tbird calibration and tune it for the new engine, regardless what you start with IF tuned properly you'll end up with the same calibration so best bet is stick with the stock tune
