yes i know how to add gauges in TP RT v5 but in scannerpro when i try add item the item box is blanked out and no choices appear to choose which item i want to assign the new gauge to. Are you trying to add a new gauge or change the item that appears in an existing gauge? In ScannerPro if you want to change the item that appears in an existing gauge, right click on the gauge and a list of items should appear. What version of ScannerPro do you have? Charles I have version 0.05.057...

i think i have found problem.. i edited the dash and added some new calculated values (oil pressure etc) but i used TP to do the editing. calculate formula to relate fuel pressure volts to PSI data

VOLTS , PSI
0.5 , 0
1.2 , 10
1.65 , 20
2.2 , 30
2.75 , 40
3.45, 50
3.9 , 60
4.6 , 70

given this data can anyone derive the formula relating v to PSI i calculated the correlation which is 0.998930946 so there is very close relationship between these numbers

Anybody know how to add new gauges to scannerpro..i know how to do in tunerproRT. Really wish my mefi4.adx would work in tunerproRT. Anybody know how to modify it to work ?

Hi Charles, have updated thread in new thread here : http://forum.tunerpro.net/viewtopic.php?t=2896 seems tunerproRT v5 does not work with mefi4.adx files for scanning, or at least i cant get mine to connect even though ports are set correctly. i am using scannerpro please see my new thread re this....

Make sure that you do not have the cable routed near the distributor or any of the spark plug wires. Are you using a true serial cable or the USB cable from MEFIBurn? ok understood. I have only the mefi4.adx file from MEFIBURN as i only wanted to scan for engine faults not modify engine.

went into edit def and clicked on commands then opened reply mode 8 stop chatter and increased body size (Dec) from 3 to 4...is this what u mean ?

the connection says is successful but the data is flashing all over place. If it was me, I would just power the fuel pump using the prime port or jumper in the relay socket, much easier than plugging in a computer to do such a simple task. yes! good suggestion ! just thought there was simple way to activate from poot as i would have it plugged in anyway for diagnostic pur...

yes is referring to commercial scan tool, just thought Tunerpro may have function to or way to operate fuel pumps etc. I bought the MEFIBURN scan program thinking it would do all that the scan tools do and more (not talking about tuning chips of course) but seems there are some limitations i was not...

How do you run fuel pumps with TP, my EFI diagnostic manual for MEFI4 says to use scan tool to run fuel pumps for a leakdown test. Dont know how to get TP to run pumps ??

one way to estimate fuel usage would be to take the GPH reading, average it(can be done with the histograms, then multiply it by the amount of time the engine has been running(done in hours to make the conversion easy). avg 5 GPH over a 2 hour period = 10 gallons used it's obviously not automatic, ...

Thanks again ! Am beginning to get my head around this stuff. Cant imagine what it is like to get into actual tuning of engine..scary stuff ! I don't actually want to tune my boat engine just want to be able to monitor all its vitals and hope i can preempt any probs before i get stuck out at sea :) ...

ok thanks...hmm could be something to look into..considering we have fuel flow rates and engine hours and rpms all captured there should be some way to accumulate gallons used over time... the GPH item on mefi4 is an instantaneous gallon consumption figure. How would i convert that into actual gallons used from a given time.

ie when i start engine how could i accumulate gallons used ?
